      It's not that simple. Spore, AFAIK, is the first game where content created by your average, everyday user is going to be a major part of the game.

        Yes. The fundamental difference in Spore is that not only is it fully integrated in-game (you don't need to download anything outside or log on some website) but also it is totally transparent and you aren't aware of it. At least that's what's promised. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
        Also again in Spore 'player generated content' is quite unique as it is done fully ingame and requires no skill as it is generated on the fly while you play, which removes the potential for poor quality assets or technical issues.

          I know what you are saying but the "poor quality" bit made me laugh, have you seen the video with Robin Williams and the creature he makes?
