Evening Reading

Wow.. caught one of the best basketball games I've seen in a long time this afternoon. I try not to bore you guys with too much sports talk but that Cleveland/Miami game was nuts. So anyways...

Lastly, in the spirit of the day here are some of the greatest internet spoofs.

INF. Those new textures are great. Didn't notice any FPS impact and it made the LOD textures look awesome. Let's just say the fields don't look like something from Terminal Velocity anymore.

kudos to anyone who remembers that game

As stated already, it stands for "Level Of Detail". It descripes the process of how an object is displayed in less and less detail the farther away it is. It's a method to save resources with minimal graphics impact, as one usually shouldn't even notice the level of detail changing.

In Oblivions case though it's rather obvious that objects farther away, especially the landscapes, are drawn with a lot less details.
