yeah evolution really doesn't make sense. it's just what develops for certain species because it happens to work better than whatever there was before it. a lot of behavioral or physical developments are inefficient or weird, or just flat out don't make sense.
it's the major reason why intelligent design is a pile of crap... maybe if they called it unintelligent design, or lazy design they'd have a case :P -
