Haha... first comment on that page:
    please come to 360

Right... MMORPGs are awesome on console, right? :) I know I wouldn't want to navigate my 30-40 spells with a controller, nor do I want a keyboard/mouse in my living room. :D

Sounds nice though, can't wait for the weather effects... Any ETA rumors? :)

FFXI handles well with a controller. But then again the game/UI was built around the PS2 controller. I set WoW up with a saitek controller and it works great for casual play but I don't use it in instances. It lacks the speed and precision to play as a warrior and dance between several mobs to hold aggro.

That game blows, so it's a moot point if it works or not.

As it is I can already run circles around a keyboard only player in 1 on 1 fights. Just run right through them and do a quick 180 and you get a hit in and they get a "You're facing the wrong way." I couldn't imagine how bad I'd womp on someone trying to handle all their abilities on a gamepad, plus keep oriented in the right direction.

Yes, actually, they are, and this is coming from a hardcore pc mmo/fps/rts player

The comfort factor is through the roof, and with the proper setup, you can manage the bulk of your important abilities with enough speed to be competent - you'd have issues in pvp to be sure, but pve content would be manageable with some effort

It would however, assuming server cross compatibility, introduce a whole new wave of utterly incompetent players to the game, making pickup groups even more horrific than they already are

Yeah, it would work fine as long as you didn't have cross-server compatibility. PC players would just pee on consolers because of

        a) the mouse and the fact that the direction you face is a factor

        b) pc gamers have been playing wow since it launched

Players would demand a way to determine which players were on consoles, so they could avoid inviting them into groups.

        ^^ Agreed.

Give me an MMO I can play on my bigscreen and home theatre system while sitting on my futon and I'll be all up ons. If FFXI gets a 360 server to itself I'd be tempted to start playing it again.
