On EverQuest 2 PvP Combat
The EverQuest 2 website has been updated with information on the Player vs Player combat mode being added to SOE's MMORPG sequel. The article outlines combat types, control spells, rules, rewards and City PvP. The update is scheduled for release February 21.

For PvP use: "Taunts have the ability to change players' targets in PvP. They can also keep targets focused on the taunter for short durations of time." Now that sounds kind of cool if it's not a long duration. I always wanted this for Paladins in RvR on DAOC. Always thought they would have a bit more utility if their taunt forced a player to target something else even if for a second or two.

EQ2 has a VERY cool hate system, there's attacks that increase your hate level (act like a mild taunt), there's buffs for rogues that increase their damage but increase their hate level so it makes it harder for tanks to taunt. If they can translate any of that into PVP it makes for a very cool system.
