Evening Reading

So I'm thinking I'll unplug it all tomorrow night. Perhaps I'll plug it all back in a couple hours later if the mood strikes. Or maybe I'll go have some pizza... The Empire at War demo tomorrow should be good fun. We sure were impressed when we took footage of it at E3. Blow stuff up! Yeah!

- Get that TV out of the bedroom and you'll get in her pooper!
- Computers are getting purty
- Dumb crap rich people buy
- No XP SP3 until next year
- Obesity cure?
- Most loved mascots
- In case you thought cell phone bills made sense

Lastly, I survived Episode III and I've come to tell you that it was not hot. Ho-hum at best. :(

Fix Shackspace please. People are actually paying for the service while you're debating on fixing it or eating pizza.

yeah I used to be [Cyb] but I only had like 8 posts under that account so I didn't care... so I got Maarten to change my reg date because I'm insecure... and I don't even have mercury any more :(

              ps - brackets are a no-go because you get a shackspace e-mail, and you can't have any non-alphanumeric chars (aside from . - _ and I think that's it) in an e-mail address :( \

Ohhh, no. with the right type of escaping and quoting, you can have nearly anything in an email address. 'Valid' email addresses are much much scarier than you might initially think. (check RFC 822)

I was missing the space, but then Dreamhost did their crazy zillion gig of bandwidth thing and now I don't miss it so much. Sucks that it's down, though. I'm sure I'm missing out on a lot of great nws :(

Filefront gives you free unlimited space and bandwidth. $1 a month gets you no lines. http://fastpass.filefront.com/

Filecloud gives you 25mb free and for $5 a month you get 500mb and no lines. I think they use a system similar to Fileshack. https://shop.filecloud.com/

Personally I have a cheap Dreamhost account for hosting files, but if I didn't I'd use Filefront's free service. As to downloading, I find Filefront also has the largest selection and shortest lines.

it is the #1 priority right now that i've spent quite bit of time on and i expect to be spending another couple hours on tonight.

the server moving stuff has nothing to do with it.

Thanks for the information that you are working on it. Communication is the biggest key in things like this. Acknowledgement that there is a problem, and that it is actively being worked on goes a long way in keeping people from becoming angry.
