Intel Overclocking Preview

New at Anand Tech today is this article taking a look at overclocking Intel's upcoming Pentium and Pentium D processors, which are being manufactured with a new 65nm process.

    Neato....I hear they are doing capping layer strained Si in this process, I think? Or was that in 90 nm as well?

    BTW...65 nm node...have transistor with gate lengths 30ish nm. Very impressive device engineering.

      impressive device manufacturing, I'm waiting for the nextgen before I claim anything is impressive engineering.

        Actually...engineering 65 nm devices is very hard. There are challenges on both the manufacturing and design end, but IMO right now what makes scaling difficult is the design. Short channel effect supression and what not.

          I'm still not saying anything nice about Netburst.

          Roll on Merom/Conroe/Woodcrest

          from a physical standpoint, a 65nm chip that works is very impressive, shame it's such a crappy microarchitecture.
