This game is basically the holy grail of gaming for me, it has every element that I enjoy in games all rolled into one, and it's being worked on people who have established that they know what they're doing when it comes to making games, so I get giddy every time there's a newspiece about it and I run off like a good little fanboy and gobble up all the screenshots and interviews but...
We're still at least a year away from this being released, and ever since just before E3 when the game was unveiled, it seems like there's 2 new previews a week. I hope this game doesn't become a Tribes 2, where by the time it actually comes out you can take all the screenshots released and all the vids and string them together for a complete gameplay experience. I'm really kind of hoping this game pulls a STALKER where after sporadic media blitzes, Flagship goes dark and we don't hear anything about it for long stretches. I know I'm too weak to avoid looking at anything and everything posted online. :(-
I am your Clone, or something. I want to play this game so much it brings physical pain. I don't really think theres anything about this game that doesnt appeal to me.
As for the previews, I'm a little surprised as well. I suspect maybe Flagship wants word to get out about it, since they are "new" and probably don't have vast marketing funds. Just a speculation though. Either way, every preview excites me more than the last, I'm going to be a ruined person by the time this game actually comes out.
Here's to hoping for game-development miracles of speed and quality! -
I know what you mean. I worry about getting overhyped and oversaturated with the previews, but at the same time there's still not that much information about it. I didn't really know anything about the weapons until reading that preview, and damn if they don't look awesome. A grappling hook that brings enemies into melee range so you can slice them up? Yes please.

Going by the way they marketed Diablo2...seemingly setting records for the number/frequency of screenshots/dev journals/previews, I'd expect more of the same for this game. Personally, I don't care. Diablo2 wasn't any less stunningly awesome when it came out, and I dont' think it'll be a problem for Hellgate.
Like you, though, this is my most anticipated game....perhaps ever...and I don't even consider myself a serious gamer, anymore. Never thought I'd be waiting for a game like this, again, quite honestly...
