An interesting review of EiB. While I did thoroughly enjoy the original (even through the bugs), this does make me a little nervous about the next installment. I do appreciate the honest (and jaded) view, especially on the marketing problem within the industry.
Judging from the demo, it looks as though they've only loosened "the first boot strap" on the confinement problem. As well as the boasted "newly improved A.I." Half of the enjoyment has been the story line... but only half. If it's plagued by the same problems as the first, then I'm only "half" as interested and will only pay "half" as much. I guess I'll wait until the price has significantly dropped.
I've grown tired of throwing my money at full priced-broken work and having to wait months to get the final product promised (if ever). I'm glad this philosophy hasn't spilled over into other industries... oh wait. ;P-
If you thouroughly enjoyed the original, then you will probably thoroughly enjoy Earned In Blood. Despite what this person says, vast improvements were made in many areas ( that those who appreciated the goals of the original will appreciate ). A disposition towards dislike before starting any endeavor generally produces negative results. This review was disappointing as a developer because he did nothing to help those truly interested in knowing what the game was all about learn an understand. This review was more of an editorial/rant of one mans anger towards the industry. Overall I feel it was written in haste. I don't trust haste. "Too great haste leads us to error." ( ... you caught me, I googled a quote, but its true ;) )
There are a ton of other reviews available where at least disinterest in the game is explained in unbias detail ( rather than a rant predetermined to throw the game off course ). Reviews are just one persons opinion, some mask it more than others.

I personally am loving the game and the improvements to the German AI alone make it worth the money. The review says he saw germans taking cover behind the same fence as one of his team, but i have never seen that. Could it be perhaps they were assaulting the position (which they seem to do when flanked with no where to fall back to)? I myself have been floored a number of times by how smart the AI is with them constantly flanking to get around me especially on the harder difficulties.
