EverQuest 2 Producer's Letter

The EverQuest 2 website has a new producer's letter, outlining several changes planned for SOE's MMORPG sequel. Over at EverQuest 2 Guru you can find several new Desert of Flames screenshots.

Whats with the graphics? They are terrible looking. I'm asuming just some early shots?

  nopers thats the real deal. MMORPG players are more interested in items of "flair" and camping rare spawns for phat loot than looking at graphics.

    Imagine that, players being more instested in gameplay (even MMORPG gameplay) then graphics. The horror of it all...

  Looks like the texture settings for the world are on medium. From screenie to screenie it looks like the character texture settings are being set back and forth from medium to high.

  However EQ2 graphics look rather meh even on the max settings in two situations.
  
  Barren/empty landscapes.
  
  The other is when it's the brightest during the day. Kinda looks like somebody set fullbright 1
  
  Other than that SOE has been going all out. The gameplay kicks much ass, and for better or worse they been turning some aspects more WoW like. Like the solo ability and a better auction system where you don't have to sit in your house to sell stuff. Toss it in the vault, set a price and away you go.
