As if the whole San Andreas/Hot Coffee incident itself wasn't enough of a mess, the ESRB statement regarding the re-rerating mentions this: "Furthermore, the ESRB calls on the computer and video game industry to proactively protect their games from illegal modifications by third parties, particularly when they serve to undermine the accuracy of the rating". I hope they just mean "don't leave adult content in your games you screwups" and don't intend for developers to ban the possibility to mod in the way we see for games like Half-Life 2, UT2004, etc. And apparently Rockstar is considering legal action against Action Replay and GameShark for having the ability to unlock the content Rockstar foolishly "forgot" to remove...yeah... The worst thing about all of this though is that the sex mini-game isn't even all that offensive or revealing. Update: GameCloud go to talk to someone at the ESRB, and their comments about mods does not include third party content add-ons. So yay for that.
