Late Night Consoling

So how many of you are now considering a Nintendo DS? Does the addition of Super Mario 64 DS sway you? How about the recent availability of the Electric Blue DS? Like every good gamer, I picked up the port along with my DS on the launch day and I was very pleased with it; it's fun going back and playing a classic like that. Still, I wonder what is the motivation behind this maneuver? Nintendo has been heavily boasting about its strong sales and that it doesn't fear the PSP. Have the numbers changed recently? Or are they going in for the kill? Too bad Nintendogs isn't ready for the US yet. That's going to sell gangbusters when it's out. I know I'll be buying a second DS for that for the lady friend.

Finally, the days of a Nintendo system coming packed with a Mario game are here again! Starting June 12, stores will now be selling Nintendo DS hardware bundled with a copy of Super Mario 64. That's right, a free Mario game with every DS. Although this isn't 100% official, sources within EBgames and Best Buy are confirming the rumor. The Metroid Hunters demo is no longer included.

  • New Details on Xbox 360, PS3 Hard Drives

    [xbox] [ps2]

First, the bad news. Ken Kutaragi told Impress PC Watch that the PS3 will not come equipped with a hard drive. His reasoning? No matter the capacity, it would not be enough. However, the sold-separately hard drives will come with Linux pre-installed, allowing the PS3 to be recognized as a computer. As for the Xbox 360, Seagate revealed that their LD25 line of HDs will be the ones used in Microsoft's newest console.

For $275 USD, fans will get a Cloud w/ motorcycle figure, a "Making Of" DVD, a scene replica, hat and shirt, key holder, and "FFVII PS soft with special picture labels," whatever that is!

I like the PC version very much, I'm not sure if it's better or worse than the console versions. GTA has always been a PC endeavor for me......I've played the series since the very first one on PC so I just keep with the trend :).

I've played at least one of the games on each setup PC, PS2 and Xbox and the PC is the best way to play them, imo.
