Battlefield 2 Q&A

There's a Battlefield 2 Q&A on the Battlefield Singleplayer site, talking to EA's Ben Smith about the singleplayer element in the game. Thanks Total Battlefield 2.

Apparently No Multi-player Co-Op with bots? That's a bit weak. One good time waster with me and my house mates has always been to fire up a 32-player game.. 14 bots and two people on each side, since it tends to be good for quick one-off games when we don't want to go on line. Shame that EA/Dice didn't implement this feature.

Personally I hate bots in multiplayer. I'm glad to know that every charatcer on the map is being controlled by a real person. If I wanted bots I'd play a single player.

Actually they worked pretty well in all the UT iterations and, more recently, in SW: Battlefront.

christ, I wish I had a dollar for every time I played UT and thought I was playing with other people.....

IAWTP ^ There's no satisfaction from killing bots over and over again! I don't even care if they're GOOD or BAD, I care if they have feelings.

If I kill that damned sniper that's been shooting my teammates over and over again, I feel proud. I feel like I did something for my team, and for myself. Hell, I'll even be honest and say I enjoy knowing that sniper on the other end of the DSL line is mashing his keyboard in contempt for my 100/1 rifle round to his skull! Even if it WAS a lucky shot!

Compare that to knowing you gotta bot on the other side of the bridge, run by good (or bad) programming and it doesn't give 2 shits if you kill it or not.

That's like having sex with a real-doll. Sure she's laying there for you to take advantage of her, but at least the real thing can give an honest scream of passion.
