Late Night Consoling

24
As E3 draws near, all the publishers are now in lock-down mode, keeping the proverbial cats tied up securely in each of their respective bags. Of course, come May 16, the Monday before E3 and the day the majority of the press arrive, secrets will spill and an orgy of information will flood the Internet. Heh, it's kinda neat how we'll know everything the moment it happens. I remember when magazines would sometimes spend up to three issues covering the event (I was in a generic photo in an issue of PSM!). I also remember those 400-page issues of EGM. Now I only read the rags when I'm on the can. =(
  • Urban Reign Confirmed for US

    [ps2]

The new Namco brawler just recently announced in Japan has been confirmed to set sail for the U.S. This game features developers from both the Tekken and Soul Calibur series. Urban Reign contains over 60 playable characters with a large array of special movies.

  • New Details on LA Final Fantasy Concert

What is shaping up to be the best one yet, the More Friends: Music from Final Fantasy concert in LA during E3 has some added surprises. Japanese vocalists Emiko Shiratori (Melodies of Life) and RIKKI (Suteki Da Ne) will make appearances along with Nobuo Uematsu and his band The Black Mages. Two new songs will make their debut: Maria and Draco from FFVI and a new arrange of Swing de Chocobo. Even more is that CDs will be on sale at the show. Why, Microsoft, must you schedule a press event during it? =(

  • Boktai and Mega Man to Link Up

    [gba]

With Boktai 2 and Mega Man Battle Network 5, two games from two different companies will sport connectivity features. Using the wireless adapter, the two games will have "Crossover Battles," which essentially has the cartridge's main hero battling a character called ShadeMan. Each user tries to successfully defeat the opponent until one loses all their hit points, thus granting a winner. It's not groundbreaking or terribly exciting, but Hideo Kojima and Keiji Inafune are good friends and they've always wanted to work together on something.
