2K Games sends along a press release officially announcing the return of Prey. As we previously reported the game is in development at Human Head Studios, and powered by the DOOM 3 engine. The press release offers no details on the game, you'll have to check out the June issue of PC Gamer (link goes to cover showing an in-game screenshot) to find out more. A release year is mentioned in the announcement though: 2006. Prey will ship on PC and "a next-generation console system".

"We jumped at the chance to create this game with a talented developer like Human Head Studios and next-generation technology like the Doom 3 engine."
