New World of Warcraft Patch

Blizzard has released new patches for the US version of World of Warcraft, updating the game to v1.4.0. There is an incremental patch from v1.3.1, as well as a full download. When actually reachable, the World of Warcraft site has patch notes here.

  IAWTP! How many companies would tolerate a patch that has a guarantee of over 24 hours of downtime.

    I have yet to play an MMO that wasnt brought to its knees with bugs, followup patches, impossible login issues, unexpected server downtime, and horrible download times on patch day. FFXI especially pissed me off, you could not download the patch from another source, it HAD to be through them, and invariably they never hosted enough bandwidth and you simply could not get the patch on patch day.

      I guess you haven't played CoH then...
      
      CoH has always given people the choice of downloading a major content patch weeks before it even comes out (You can play it until they activate it (Think Steam). The day it comes out, you just download a much smaller patch that will basicly "patch the patch"
