Kaneva Platform Q&A

Computer Games Magazine has a story about the Kaneva Platform, an MMO game development platform created by Klaus Entertainment. Supposedly the platform will make development easier and cheaper, and developers can also act as their own publisher. 404 Gaming is using Kaneva for their Hip-Hop Legends MMORPG as well as several other MMO titles in different subgenres.

Hmm... Interesting idea... But I'm afraid that this will just mean that most MMOs made with this will be pretty similar in the gameplay technical parts which means most of them will just be the same game but in a different era/location with new graphics/sound.

But we'll have to wait and see. Might turn out great. :)

  The same could be said of the quake or UT engines - almost.
