World of Warcraft Kinda Popular

Blizzard today happily announced their MMORPG World of Warcraft is doing very well, hitting the 1.5 million subscriber mark after just a few months. There have been days of more than half a million people in North America, Europe and Korea playing the game at the same time.

Blizzard is making silly amounts of money right now. They have been an AAAAA developer up until this point, so I hope their wealth doesn't lead to mo problem. Also I hope their employees are sharing in it a bit :(

We are due some new games and a new franchise or two right about now. And they should open a development house in Canada

A revamp of rock n roll racing would be awesome. Keep the isometric perspective, use the same engine as WoW, it would be awesome!

Or better yet, let players drive the cars in shimmering flats for rewards or somesuch, maybe even have betting and whatnot, it would be brillant I say...Brilliant!

If I had to guess, I'd say that running a MMORPG for 1.5+ million people across multiple continents can get expensive. I'm sure they're making silly amounts of money, but remember that a good portion of that goes to running/maintaining the servers, content development and bug fixes, paychecks to everyone involved in supporting the game, etc. I doubt the WoW guys are driving around in cars made out of money. :)
