Late Night Consoling

If you didn't notice, Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening was released today and so far, it has been getting rave reviews; 9.6/10 at IGN and 8.6/10 at GameSpot. My favorite comment about the game comes from Shacker Vincent Grayson, "Wow, so DMC3 is like DMC2, if you changed EVERY FUCKING THING about DMC2." The second DMC was such a stinker, especially since the original was quite a refreshing surprise. The second came along and confused everybody. Capcom seems to be on the ball as of late when it comes to re-imagining their franchises (referring to Resident Evil 4 here). Now we look forward to Killer 7 from Capcom.
  • 50 Cent: Bulletproof Revealed

It has been officially revealed that 50 Cent will have own his videogame. Earlier today, a trailer appeared on MTV.com for the game, called 50 Cent: Bulletproof. It's similar in style to Grand Theft Auto, as the game "follows the rapper through the NYC criminal underworld to uncover an ugly, international conspiracy." The MTV site also made note that 50 Cent passed up on the lead role in San Andreas in order to make this game. "I'm out to destroy the competition and my video game is no different," he said. "I plan to shake up the video game world like I did the rap world." No platforms or a release date were mentioned, but it will be published by VU Games.

  • Microsoft Done with Sports Games

    [xbox]

The general manager of Microsoft Games Studios, Shane Kim, made it official that the company will no longer be making sports games. This doesn't come as much of surprise as the company sold its development studios to Take Two Interactive and its franchises to Ubisoft. Kim said, "We made a decision almost a year ago to reevaluate what we were doing in sports. Frankly, we weren't delivering at the kind of quality we needed for our customers and to compete effectively." The company will continue to produce racing games, however.

  • Xbox 2 Live Demo

    [xbox]

The president of the publishing house for Japanese magazine Famitsu, Hirokazu Hamamura, recently took a trip to Mistwalker and witnessed their next-gen Xbox RPGs in action. He talked about the demonstration at a recent Asian games conference and said, "It's such a realistic video that with just one look you'll know that you're looking at a next-generation system. It's something that cannot be realized on today's machines." He added, "It's possible to show a camera outside the Earth's atmosphere approach a forest on the Earth's surface, then show leaves on a tree one at a time." The real deal or hype? You decide. (Or I'll decide for ya; it's hype).

Apparently not. Seeing as he's a multimillion dollar rapper and all.

I think rappers should feel free to try out other artistic areas if they take it seriously, like Mos Def who also has a resemblance of talent.

One thing I cannot stand however is rappers who bring a cocky attitude towards everything like because they have a few million that they suddenly percieve themselves as invincible.

The latter is what this game appears to be. Nobody says "shake up the video game world" and has a good game come out.
