Late Night Consoling

Another high-profile PlayStation 2 game hit store shelves this week as Tekken 5 arrived today. Like Gran Turismo 4 before it, Tekken 5 is also garnering high scores from review sites across the net (holding at 91% on GameRankings). I haven't spent much time with the Tekken series; more of a Dead or Alive guy myself. In fact, the last Tekken I played was Tekken 2 for the PSone. I borrowed it from a friend along with his strategy guide and my cat urinated on the guide. He wasn't too happy about that. As for the game, I'm all for getting deeply involved and working hard to learn the intricacies, but geez, there's 4,544,783 moves per character and each one has a crazy name and the button presses vary oh-so-ever-slightly. Talk about a brain teaser.
  • Sakaguchi Talks About His Two RPGs

    [xbox]

Microsoft posted an interview with Hironobu Sakaguchi on their Japanese site. It discussed the two RPGs his company Mistwalker is developing for the next-gen Xbox. He dropped a few scant details on both. In essence, one will be a realistic adventure whereas the other will feature cute characters. Describing the realistic adventure, Sakaguchi said, "The story isn't about [the main character] growing up, as with many RPGs. The main character is more the type [of individual] that knows everything." As for the cutesy game, "It will feature a main character that keeps on going forward, without ever giving up, no matter what kind of hardship presents itself."

Sakaguchi also credited his decision to bring his two RPGs to the next-gen Xbox as having familiar relationships with those in the ranks at Microsoft Game Studios Japan. Although he did say that the next-gen Xbox would allow him "to do everything that I've imagined, in a world without any limits."

Did your cat normally piss in places other than its litter box? If not, perhaps thats a pretty good indication of the Tekken series. Cats hate it.

You're right, it was an abnormal situation. Not sure why he chose that.
