    This looks like it came from a good flight sim game http://fz.se/bildarkiv/image.php?id=14298
    I wonder if some team is going to mod BF2 to make it more realistic, not in terms of looks but in terms how each vehicle and weapon system would really behave.

      It really should NEED to be modded for how the weaps and systems and vehicles behave. Hopefully the devs did it right , right from the start. My Gods to make it look mil, and everything reacts nothing like their realworld counterparts would be a really stupid move on the devs part.

        I meant "shouldn`t NEED to be modded". Sorry.

        I've heard they made a step in the 'realistic' direction specially related to the vehicles sizes, but some dev has said on an interview that the game itself still has the 'arcade' feel of it instead of being an ultra realistic shooter. He said something in the likes of "we will always tweak the game to make it fun even if that means making it behave differently from its real life counterpart" (not a direct quote).

        why would it be stupid? You think their target audiance wants an ultra realistic game or something?

        Most people don't play BF2 for a simulation.

        Realism rarely == fun.

        What we're looking for is a subset of reality. Simplfied controls is a good thing.

          "Realism rarely == fun."

          I totally disagree. Realism of FEEL, most always gaurantees loads of immersive fun. I personally think FORM without function blows. Obviously when ya bring up the term Realism, many are not on the same wavelength for its meaning. Lastly tho, and I mean no disrespect...but I am getting increasingly tired of everyone seemingly want every new game offering coming out, to look like mil, but play like UT. I`d rather have the game feel like mil combat with some gameplay attributes, than just another GAME inspired by UT, whose only mil aspect, is the visuals.

          You play Quakers to quake, ya play mil combat games, to immerse into that genre. Marrying the 2 genres, blows. Maybe let some of us Mil combat gamers have our cake once in awhile, without us having to wade thru yet even MORE mil combat skinned quakers.

        If they make it really realistic then they are likely to struggle to make it an entertaining game for everyone playing. I'm expecting them to make it so opposing sides vechiles and weapons almost match in performance, even if in real life one is much better than the other.
        I'd just like the odd game where everything behaved as close to real life as possible even if it would mean my side couldn't realistically win.
