Duplex Systems let us know that the Face of Mankind open beta is starting tomorrow, allowing you to try out this sci-fi MMORPG. You can download the client file already from FileShack.

        Plus this game supposedly has FPS combat, I think that alone makes it interesting. True, it will probably suck, but I'll at least give it a try.

        There's absolutely nothing, not one thing, innovative about World of Warcraft. It, by their developers own admission, is "EQ improved". With all the talent, money, experience and such a large and established fanbase, Blizzard could have created a truely innovative 3rd generation MMORPG, but instead they like dozens of others, decided to make an EQ clone with not one single original idea and/or feature added.
        
        The true innovation will come with Vanguard. Until that time, only MMO newbs and people that are fooling themselves, will continue to pay for WOW.

  thats all well and good, but Blizzard has the greatest team of artists and animators on the planet! Thus WoW is a masterpeice.

    The artwork in WOW isn't all that good because of their decision to go the low polygon route. Obviously that helps boost performance but it also makes the game look pretty dated. Animations? *shrug*, both animations and graphics can take a backseat to gameplay and fun, both of which World of Warcraft is severely lacking due to being a game patched together with rehashed ideas from other games.
