Brothers In Arms Interview

46

We have a Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 interview for you guys this morning, as we asked Gearbox president Randy Pitchford a few questions about his company's upcoming tactical action game. Randy talks about the game's authenticity and realism, squad management, multiplayer, release platform differences and mod support. Here's about the game's authenticity.

This care amounts to the most authentic representation of this subject matter ever attempted - not just in video games, but in all visual media. It sounds like a bold statement that you may have heard before, but if you take the time to actually look at what the team has done it's just amazing. I can no longer fairly and objectively even look at other games that are based on historical subject matters - it's just that far ahead of everything. So, when your team attacks St. Come-du-Mont or Carentan, you're actually in the real place. You can compare the game to real maps and see that everything lines up. You can google photographs from the era and see that things are the same. You can go to Normandy today and recognize the buildings from the game that are still standing after 60 years.

Awesome work Maarten. Randy makes some pretty bold claims about the game here, but if they hold up this could be a great game.

Yeah, great interview it was a nice suprise this morning. I was thinking the same thing. If the claims he makes hold up, and the pc version isn't an afterthought, this should be a wonderful game. The movies on fileshack have my interest peaked. Can't wait to see this completed.
