Late Night Consoling
Hey, some new hardware on the horizon! Portable video appears to be the Hot Thing™ for kids these days and Nintendo has finally decided to jump on that bandwagon. It'd be interesting to see the numbers on Majesco's video cartridges already on the market for the GBA; they've had a steady stream of releases since they started selling earlier this year. If you've ever actually seen one of them used on a GBA, it isn't a pretty sight. I'm hoping the Nintendo-developed product does a much better job. Still, CD-quality music on my DS saves me from ever having to buy an iPod (actually, it's the cost that's preventing me =[).
Nintendo Reveals GBA Media Reader Nintendo plans to release their own official media reader that will be compatible with both the Game Boy Advance and the Nintendo DS. The device will use Secure Digital (SD) cards to hold MPEG-4 movies files and MP3 audio files. "Someone could record a TV program on a memory card and then watch it the next day on their way to work on the train," explained a Nintendo spokesman. It's currently slated for a February release in Japan for just under $50 USD. | |

Possible Drakengard Sequel? Square Enix has sent out solicitations to Japanese retailers that they are developing a sequel to their action-RPG Drakengard. Not much else was revealed aside from its title, Drag-on Dragoon 2, but it was mentioned that it's set for a spring release in Japan.
