Battlefield 2 Preview

GameSpot gets some playtime with Battlefield 2 and report back with this lengthy preview. Although they're playing with an early alpha, the game is still slated for release before the end of March of next year.

  Like what? It looks pretty diverse to me looking at the maps. This isn't a dm game so we aren't going to see any fighting inside a volcano while riding hovercrafts.

  We have many DC like maps (IE: desert and Middle East areas) and then we also have china maps, which could look different in a multitude of ways because China is such a large country.

    But like I was saying, if you look at the overhead maps they show, it looks pretty varied. I saw an island type map and a forest type map too.

  I was thinking that... If it's all desert that's like getting a 1/4 of the variety of 1942... and part of what kept 1942 fresh was environmental change over maps so you weren't staring at the same shit, different position. some of the overhead maps look very green... but I haven't seen screenies of what that is so I'm still a bit curious what's going to happen with that issue
