Late Night Consoling
I find it baffling how little love the Chrono series gets. Chrono Trigger is arguably the best RPG of the 16-bit era and Chrono Cross was one of those games that was critically acclaimed yet not well received. For me, Chrono Trigger was the game that turned me on to RPGs and until recently, was atop my all-time favorites list. When Chrono Cross was released, GameSpot gave it a perfect 10 and IGN a 9.7. Look at its GameRankings page; phenomenal scores. After recently replaying through both games, I feel they stand up to the test of time. So why is it that people more fondly remember Final Fantasy III for the SNES and Final Fantasy VII for the PSone? Is it because both Chrono titles came out after each Final Fantasy? Certainly they all deserve the respect they've received, yet it just appears that Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are oft-forgotten.
X-Men Legends Sequel Announced Due to such a quick success of the recently released X-Men Legends, Activision has given the go-ahead for Raven Software to begin work on the sequel. Marvel and Activision are committed to ensuring that the X-Men Legends series will continue to be a top notch game franchise for years to come."
Jakks & THQ Respond to WWE's Lawsuit For those that don't know, the quick gist is that the WWE is suing Jakks-Pacific for illegally winning the videogame rights to the WWE by bribing the person at WWE negotiating the deal. Jakks then partnered with THQ to make the games. The game maker tried to clear its name from this scandal by releasing this statement: "THQ believes the WWE is pleased with the manner in which THQ has managed their brand in the video game category. As THQ is not directly accused of any wrongdoing in the complaint -- rather the complaint alleges wrongdoing on the part of Jakks Pacific and others of which THQ was and is unaware -- THQ is not in a position to comment on these allegations." At the same time, Jakks released a brief statement saying it is innocent of these accusations.
