Boiling Point Announced

10

Atari issued this press release announcing Boiling Point: Road to Hell, which is the first person action game formerly known as Xenus. The game takes place in the jungles of South America, where the player comes in contact with various factions engaged in a guerrilla war. The press release promises a "non-linear gameplay experience, with no loading times or separate levels". The Deep Shadows developed game will be released Spring 2005.

"Boiling Point: Road to Hell will push the boundaries of what people think first-person action games can do, with its unbelievable scale of the game world and the ability to choose your own path," said Wim Stocks, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Atari. "Working with Deep Shadows is really exciting - they bring a fresh look and innovative ideas to a genre that needs new avenues for exploration."
A new preview of the game can be found at Computer & Video Games. Thanks Blues. Some Xenus screenshots from last year can be found here.

I wish they just left it at Boiling Point. That is a very cool title. But Road to Hell? Come on, lose the cheese.
