Tales of Eternia Online

GameSpot is reporting that Namco & Dwango are partnering to bring an MMORPG version of Tales of Eternia to the PC next year. Though not much know is about Tales of Eternia Online yet, it will likely feature gameplay similar to traditional console RPGs, and a version of the series' Skit system is being implemented as well. Beta testing starts early next year, though no US release date has been announced.

I loved T.o.Phantasia and T.o.Symphonia, but I have to admit that this has the potential to be absolutely terrible. Oh God, let it not suck.

  I don't really see how the tales series even lends itself to an MMORPG. I thought the battle system was kind of a staple to the series.

    Well, according to gamespot (and the screenshot seems to suggest this) this game uses the linear motion battle system and seperate battle screens like standard RPGs instead of just copying everquest.
