Late Night Consoling
I took the Donkey Konga plunge today and picked up the last local copy but I'm suffereing from a high fever, so I spent very scant time with it. Kinda hard to beat some bongos and clap your hands when your bones feel as brittle as a twig. I noticed plenty of unlockables and that every song has an easy, medium, and hard difficulty. Thank goodness, because the few songs I tried on easy/med were way too easy. One aspect I had to spend time with was finding a balance between the clap-sensor and the audio volume. I'm not sure if it was the bass or what, but the game registered me as clapping every other second, forcing me to play it not as loud as I wished. Can't wait for the spare bongos to ship for multiplayer madness.
Sony Setting Power Restrictions on PSP Sony has contacted developers and provided them with new set of technical guidelines, specifically focusing on battery consumption of a game. The new guideline is in place to make sure games are not quickly drying up the battery well, possibly giving the PSP a bum rap in battery life. Sony didn't provide hard numbers as they appear to be waiting for results from high-profile games such as Metal Gear Acid.
European Tiger Woods Recalled Electronic Arts has issued a recall for its PlayStation 2 version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005, citing an "unprecedented disc production issue" as the reason. The publisher will have a revised version out the door within three weeks but weren't clear on how owners should respond if they believe they are an affected customer.
Gran Turismo 4 Printers Epson announced today two new printers that were specifically designed to work with Sony's upcoming Gran Turismo 4, but more specifically, its photo mode. Both printers support up to 5,760 by 1,440 dpi, however the more expensive model ($360 vs. $180) uses an eight-color printing process as opposed to six. Gran Turismo 4 will ship with the printers' drivers on the disc.
Nintendo to Make Movies? 1up took a look at some comments made by former Nintendo president and current consultant, Hiroshi Yamauchi, to Dengenki Online. The venerable old man said he plans to present an idea at an upcoming Nintendo managerial meeting that will focus on simultaneously developing a game and an animated movie of the same vein. While Nintendo has licensed its franchises for the silver screen, this would be Nintendo's first attempt at going at it themselves.

has widscreen support for HALO 2 been confirmed or debunked yet? Running this thing in 4x3 mode would make me a sad panda.
