WOW Beta Suspended
The World of Warcraft community website has been updated, mentioning that a datacenter complex in Virginia that's being used to host the World of Warcraft beta was hit by a tornado. Water was leaking into the facility as a result, and the servers were shut down before they got damaged. It will probably take a while before the World of Warcraft beta will resume.

Man, I hope this doesn't jerk up the release date, I'd like to have something to do during the holidays.

from the interview.
The release date for the US is not confirmed, however the Producer mentioned the Euro launch would be out likely before Christmas, and that the US release would be a couple of months before that…
Its in no ways a confirmed date but it gives major hints. -

I hope Vivendi lets them do what they know they should do at postpone to next year. Just needs a lot more work. But it's obvious Vivendi is really keen on being there to compete with EQ2 at launch. They have irrational fears of losing customers to that game just because people can buy it first.
But man I want the new patch so bad =/ Level 60 content woohoo! -
Blizz could release WoW tomorrow, and it would be more stable, more polished, and have more content than any other MMO has been at release. I would be willing to bet they will ship for X-mas, and continue to work on alot of the high level content and PvP end-game over the first few months after release.
But maybe not. I'm in the beta either way, so it doesn;t really matter to me :)
