Late Night Consoling
I trust all of you took the time to check out my first Q&A for the Shack. If you missed it, you can find it here; I chat with an Atari rep about Godzilla: Save the Earth. I'm a pretty big fan of the big-G and bought the original brawler, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, the moment it was available. My impressions were that it was an excellent game to enjoy with a bunch of buds, however for the single-player experience, the game got real old, real fast. I can only the hope the addition of online play and a refocusing of the single-player campaign makes this an ideal purchase for those that do not have the luxury of hardcore gaming buddies. Let this be my official proclamation that I intend to own all of you when it is released.
Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus Square Enix's FFVII revival continues with an all-new adventure featuring everyone's favorite goth, Vincent Valentine, in Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus. GamesAreFun has some of the first images, taken from Japanese gaming mag V-Jump, which also offers some very scarce details. For instance, the game takes place after Advent Children with Vincent being called out into action. The other, more important, tidbit is that this will be a 3D action game, not an RPG. From the scans, it looks very reminiscent to Devil May Cry. Hopefully more will be unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show.
Bungie Lays to Rest Halo Rumors Plenty of rumors have been spreading around lately and it appears Bungie has heard enough. On their site, Bungie.net, they laid down the law. Only Halo title in the works is Halo 2; no paid subscription for Xbox Live extras; 16 players max multiplayer; only 2-person co-op; no bots in multiplayer; not all weapons are dual-wieldable; and finally, there is no such thing as a Halo 1.5.
Shadow of Rome Delayed A game many Shackers have been looking forward to, Shadow of Rome, is the latest title to be pushed back to 2005, according to IGN. Capcom gave it to them straight; the holiday season is just too packed with good titles and it made more sense to them to release it in 2005. I wonder how long it'll be till we see things delayed till the summer since early 2005 is getting pretty jam-packed.
Win a Trip to Bungie to Play Halo 2 Microsoft has a new promotion for Xbox Live gamers. If you're a member of the service and have opted to receive communications from Microsoft, then you might be one of a lucky twenty winners to be flown out to Redmond to spend hands-on time with Halo 2 multiplayer. Only five will be chosen from North America, however. Check out the full set of rules here.
