Late Night Consoling
I'm pleased to announce that tomorrow, someone else will be posting Late Night Consoling :)
Nintendo Financials, Next Console At E3 2005 Nintendo announced its earnings for the 2004 fiscal year which ended March 31, showing a 50% fall of net profits. However most of this can be attributed to the weak dollar, and not declining sales. During the year Nintendo sold 17.6 million Game Boy Advance & GBA SP units and 5 million GameCubes. During the 2005 fiscal year Nintendo hopes to ship 3.5 million DS units and 15 million games, while expecting that both GameCube and Game Boy Advance SP hardware & software sales will fall. Nintendo also confirmed it will show a next-gen console during E3 2005.
SEGA Ages Collections IGN reports that Conspiracy Entertainment will put together its SEGA Ages remakes together in two different collections. SEGA Ages: Classics Collection, expected late this year, will include Fantasy Zone, Golden Axe, Monaco GP, and Space Harrier. Due out early 2005 is SEGA Ages: Phantasy Star Trilogy, which will include Phantasy Star: Generation 1, Phantasy Star II, and Phantasy Star IV: End of the Millennium. All games will feature updated graphics, redone soundtracks and features not found in the original versions.
Ninja Gaiden 2 Planned There's an interview with game designer Tomonobu Itagaki on Kikizo Games, where they ask him about all things Team Ninja. There's confirmation that there will be a Ninja Gaiden 2, which will be released after Dead or Alive 4 but before Dead or Alive Code Chronus (IGN has a possible timeline for these projects) and Itagaki also mentions he'll work on PSP & DS projects.
MSN Messenger And Xbox Live Alerts The Xbox website now offers info on some new features that are now available for U.S. and Canadian Xbox Live users. U.S. MSN users will now see an Xbox tab in the program which shows you who's online among other things, while both U.S. and Canadian gamers have additional Xbox Live alerts as well. You can get alerted when someone signs on to Live, when you get invited to a game and when new content is available. You can get these alerts through MSN, by email or even on your cell phone (if it supports MSN Mobile).

GBA Samus Satin Edition Nintendo just can't get enough of those special Game Boy Advance SP units, and another one is coming called Samus Satin. Meant to look like Metroid's Samus Aran, the unit will feature an orange base part and a red colored screen part. Japanese gamers will be able get the Samus Satin GBA August 10, though it won't actually be sold in retail. Instead people will have to send their GBA SP to Nintendo, and they'll get it back with the new design after a few weeks. It's not known if Nintendo has any plans to make the Samus Satin edition available in North America or Europe.
