PS2 GameCube Viewtiful Joe 2 Announced Capcom today announced Viewtiful Joe 2, the follow-up to last year's crazy cel-shaded action game. The sequel will feature both Joe and his girlfriend Silvia (now a superheroine herself) as playable characters, and the game will have new enemies, environments, powers and co-op play. Viewtiful Joe 2 won't be exclusive to the GameCube like the first game, as a Playstation 2 version is planned as well. You can find a brief Q&A on GameSpot. The game will be released some time this winter. In related news Capcom confirmed that the original game is being ported to the Playstation 2 as well, and is expected to be released this fall.
Xbox New Xbox Live Features, Starter Kits As previously announced Xbox Live is currently being upgraded and Microsoft sent along this press release announcing what people can expect from the updated service. Immediately available will be the option to send voice messages to your friends, while developers will be able to add new team/clan and competition features to their games along with the ability to share custom created content. Additionally Microsoft is releasing a new Xbox Live Starter kit. This Starter Kit will come with three months of free Live use, the Xbox Live communicator, and game demos of MechAssault and Moto GP. It will retail for $39.99. The original 12-month Starter Kit will be updated as well, as it will now come with the full version of Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge. Xbox Live currently has 750,000 subscribers.
PS2 SNK Goes Double Dual SNK NeoGeo has announced that it will release two more combo-packs on the Playstation 2, similar to the The King of Fighters 2000/2001 pack released last year. Due out this winter is The King of Fighters 2002 & 2003, while spring 2005 will see the release of Metal Slug 4 & 5. Both packs will retail for $39.99.
Xbox Ninja Gaiden Europe Censored It was confirmed today that the European version of Ninja Gaiden will be censored after all. Though the blood is still there, as are the shurikens (which were removed from Tenchu: Return from Darkness), the PAL version will not have any decapitations. It was already mentioned as a possibility back in March but Microsoft and Tecmo denied any changes had been made at the time; they have been made now. Europe will get the game May 14.
PS2 Xbox GameCube GBA The URBZ Announced Electronic Arts sent out this press release, officially announcing The URBZ, a new Sims-like game for PS2, Xbox, GameCube and Game Boy Advance. In The Urbz (working title), your character lives in the big city where reputation is everything. Through relationships with other Urbz you try to enhance your reputation, unlocking city districts, jobs and lifestyles. Instead of just buying furniture, wallpaper and what not, the game also allows you to get "bling" and tattoos. Though the console versions are all pretty much the same, the Playstation 2 version will also feature Sony EyeToy support. Look for the game this fall.
PS2 Champions Of Norrath 2 Info HomeLAN Fed has a story posted offering some information on the Champions Of Norrath sequel which was featured in the latest issue of GamePro. The sequel of the action-RPG will be called Return to Arms, and will feature two new races, a new medal system, and you can even import your character from the first game. Look for more details during next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo.
PS2 Xbox Star Wars Battlefront Demo, Episode III Game The other day LucasArts announced what they'll put on the fourth disc of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD set. Of course, as expected, documentaries and such on the creation of the movies, but you'll also be able to find a Star Wars Battlefront trailer as well as a playable Xbox demo. Additionally the disc will come with a "making of" video on an unannounced Star Wars: Episode III game which will be released on Xbox and PS2 next year.
Xbox Xbox Live Busting a Move If you were thinking "I really wish there was a Bust-A-Move game with Xbox Live support", then this story should make you happy as Majesco will release Ultra Bust-A-Move on the Microsoft console later this year. The latest port of the game will come with five puzzle types, hundreds of puzzles and support for online play.
PS2 Karaoke Revolution Vol2 Announced Attention all William Hung wannabe's, Konami will be releasing Karaoke Revolution Volume 2 on the Playstation 2 this summer. The sing-along game sequel will feature 35 new songs (with tracks from The Police and Garth Brooks among others) and a new medley mode that lets you create you own lounge-singer montage, in addition to the previously available training, arcade, and karaoke modes.
PS2 Xbox Godzilla: Save the Earth Announced And the last game announcement for today; Atari announced plans to publish Godzilla: Save the Earth, a new action game for Playstation 2 and Xbox. The game will feature 18 Toho movie monsters, nine game modes, and levels set in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tokyo and New York. Both versions will also feature online play for up to four people, with the ability for free-for-all, head-to-head or two-on-two combat. Godzilla: Save the Earth will be released this fall.
GameCube PS2 Xbox Misc. Q&As/Interviews 1UP talks to Naughty Dog designer Bob Rafei about Jak 3 (PS2), while IGN has a RalliSport 2 Q&A (Xbox). There's a Fight Club Q&A (Xbox, PS2) on GameHelper while Boomtown asks Rockstar programmer Michael Kelley about Red Dead Revolver (PS2). Lastly Computer & Video Games has Unreal Championship 2 and MechAssault 2 Q&As, both of those games being Xbox only.
GameCube PS2 Xbox New Releases This Week The Xbox gets Manhunt and Judge Dredd: Dredd Versus Death this week, while on the Playstation 2 you can pick up the EyeToy game Groove, Serious Sam: Next Encounter, Siren and UFC: Sudden Impact. If you're a GameCube owner you can find Judge Dredd: Dredd Versus Death in stores this week. Hitman: Contracts is out on all platforms.

PS2 The Magic Box has screenshots from Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose and IGN has screenshots from Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone.
Xbox GameSpot has info on some of the characters in Jade Empire while IGN has info on abilities in that game. IGN also goes hands-on with TRON 2.0: Killer App. Team Xbox has hands-on RalliSport 2 impressions while Fragland takes a look at Sudeki and Games Domain has a Fable preview.
Game Boy Advance IGN has new Banjo Pilot screenshots and they also have a Crash Bandicoot Purple preview. Planet GameCube has a hands-on Donkey Kong Country 2 preview.
GameCube PS2 Xbox EA Sports recently showed some of their upcoming games to the press, and on GameSpot you can find first-looks at NHL 2005, NCAA Footballl 2005 and Madden NFL 2005 while IGN also has previews of these games. There are also MLB SlugFest: Loaded (Xbox, PS2) screenshots on GameSpot.
