A Thursday night Late Night Consoling for a change, as there was some news today which just couldn't wait until tomorrow.

Xbox Jade Empire Info BioWare has launched their Jade Empire website, finally revealing more about this game besides just a name. They describe this Xbox exclusive RPG as "a rich and exciting action-roleplaying game based on mythical China". You can find screenshots here. There are also informative interviews about the game at GameSpy as well as GameSpot.
PS2 Kingdom Hearts 2 Confirmed After months of rumors it's been confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 2 is in development. The sequel takes place a year after the events of the first game, and will feature new and old characters. No release date has been announced.
PSOne On Final Fantasy VII-2 The rumors turned out to be true, Square Enix is working on Final Fantasy VII-2: Advent Children as can be seen in this scan. Unfortunately, it's a straight-to-DVD movie instead of the game. Sorry guys.
Xbox On Xbox Price Drop Was hoping Microsoft would follow Nintendo's example and lower the price for the Xbox? Don't count on it, as Microsoft says their price point will match that of the Playstation 2. So unless Sony does something, don't count on the Xbox going for anything but $179 any time soon.
PS2 Nightmare Before Christmas Announced Capcom today announced their plans to create a new third person action game for the Playstation 2, based on Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas. GameSpot's news story about the announcement offers impressions of a trailer which was shown, and mentions an October 2004 release date.
PS2 GameCube Mega Man X: Command Mission Announced Also announced by Capcom today was the Mega Man game Mega Man X: Command Mission. The Playstation 2 / GameCube game will take the characters and cel-shaded graphics from Mega Man X7 and puts them in a role playing game. The game will be released some time in 2004.
PS2 Hyper Street Fighter II Details What, more Capcom news? Some details on Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition were released today. Basically the game will be one big combo of all the Street Fighter 2 versions released using the different characters from each, and you can, for example, select what version of Ken you want to use. Besides the fighting part the game will have the usual gallery mode, intro and ending movies and a few other features.
GameBoy Advance Kingdom Hearts GBA IGN Pocket is reporting that the PS2 RPG Kingdom Hearts is heading to the GBA. The pocket version of the game will feature an isometric perspective and 2D sprites, and the Japanese release of the game is expected next year.
GameCube PS2 Xbox True Crime: Streets of L.A. Q&A Ownt.com has conducted an interview with Peter Morawiec, lead designer on True Crime: Streets of L.A.. Peter is asked about the main character of the game, the weapons and vehicles that we'll see, the combat moves the player can pull off, the physics engine, Xbox Live plans and the voice acting.

Lastly, HomeLAN Fed is the latest site to post a preview of Counter-Strike Xbox.
