In between long sessions of retro-gaming, I started playing Tron 2.0 last week. The game looks absolutely spectacular (really, it does) but I'm a little disappointed in what has so far been a fairly conventional FPS. I'm a big fan of the original movie, and so I'm really getting a kick out of seeing the world so well visualized, but I do wish the gameplay was a bit more interesting. It's not a bad game by any means, but it hasn't been able to hold my attention for more than an hour at a time. I had hoped for more from Monolith, who have proven in the past that they are capable of some really great FPS gameplay (I point to NOLF, and if you're open to something a bit different, Shogo: M.A.D. as well).
