Mega Man Collection Announced Capcom today announced plans to release a Mega Man collection for Playstation 2 and GameCube next February. The collection will contain eight Mega Man side-scroller games ported from NES, SNES, etc, as well as ports of two arcade fighting games Mega Man The Power Battle and Mega Man 2 The Power Fighters. There will also be 30 minutes of animation clips, TV commercials, and producer interviews to unlock. | |

Phantom Dust Preview There is a preview of Phantom Dust on GameSpot today, offering a first look at this action game in development at Microsoft Game Studios Japan under the guidance of Yukio Futatsugi of Panzer Dragoon fame. Microsoft also sent out the official press release on the game today, saying "Phantom Dust is set in a destructible post-apocalyptic futuristic environment where players must harness powerful skills for use in combat, both in single-player missions and against other players via Xbox Live". | Treason of Isengard Cancelled GameSpy is reporting that the Xbox/PS2 Lord of the Rings game Treason of Isengard has been cancelled. Basically the quality of the game wasn't what Vivendi Universal Games was hoping for. |
New Splinter Cell & Ghost Recon Levels McIGN is reporting that people in the U.S. who pre-order Rainbow Six 3 for the Xbox will receive a special demo disk containing new levels for Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon: Island Thunder. Computer & Video Games however, mentions that European Xbox owners will receive the levels for free through Xbox Live, which means either U.S. customers get screwed or eventually they will also get these levels without having to pre-order anything. | |

Meanwhile, the EuroGamer guys have posted their review of the device and they were not exactly blown away by it. In fact it only managed to score 5/10. | |
Misc. Media/Previews GameSpot has screenshots from NHL Hitz Pro (PS2, Xbox) and they have a preview of Final Fantasy X-2 (PS2). McIGN has screenshots of Kunoichi (PS2), as well James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing (GameCube) and Mega Man Zero 2 (GameCube), and there's also Mario Kart: Double Dash multiplayer footage (GameCube).
