Late Night Consoling
Well, whatever sadness I was feeling over the loss of my existing SegaCD collection has officially passed, as thanks to two auctions that I've won I've completely rebuilt it and then some. The first one was over at eBay, where I was able to pick up Sonic CD for under $10, as the seller had lost the manual and case for the game. As I still have those, this was a simple purchase for me. And my second one, which I closed earlier this evening, I scored over at Yahoo Auctions, and includes ten Sega CD games, including such titles as Snatcher and Shining Force CD. That one I was able to get for a ridiculously low price, which is something I've noticed about buying games on Yahoo Auctions. Because the number of people on there is so much lower than that of eBay (particularly when it comes to classic games), titles that can break $100 on eBay are typically available for a fraction of that. That was the case with this auction tonight, and it was also what happened a few weeks back when I picked up Shining Force III for the Saturn for about half its usual eBay price. With these purchases I'm officially done buying classic games for a while. Or that's what I'm saying for now, anyway. There's a part of me that keeps going back to check prices on a first-generation Panasonic 3DO system.
FFX Epilogue on OPM Disc Now here's a pleasant surprise...Gamers.com (which is owned by the same company as the magazine) is reporting that the December issue of the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine will include the Final Fantasy X "Eternal Calm" epilogue movie that was previously only available on the Japanese release of FFX International. This brief movie takes place two years after FFX and ties into the upcoming Final Fantasy X-2. Of course you could also purchase the upcoming Unlimited SaGa collector's edition, which will include the movie, but that would cost significantly more and you'd be stuck with the craptacular SaGa. | |
