Late Night Consoling
There were cries for a Late Night Consoling last night, so I figured I'd round up some news tonight.
GameCube & Game Boy Player, Happy Together No GameCube price drop announced, but Nintendo did officially announce a GameCube & Game Boy Player bundle. The new retail package will go on sale June 23, for $149.99 in the US and 199.99 euros in Europe. For those not in the know, the Game Boy Player attaches to the bottom of the GameCube and allows you to play GBA/GB games on your TV using the GameCube controller.
GameSpot's E3 Coverage A whole bunch of content from E3 at GameSpot, impressions of Destruction Derby Arenas, Tony Hawk's Underground, Wario World, Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, True Crime: Streets of L.A. and Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain.
IGN's E3 Coverage IGN has the following content for you guys; impressions of Hunter: The Reckoning Redeemer, Seven Samurai 20XX and NFL Blitz Pro. There's also footage from SWAT Global Strike Team, The Simpsons Hit And Run, Outlaw Volleyball 2, Metal Arms: A Glitch in the System, Silent Scope 3 and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel.
GameSpy's E3 Coverage Wait, is there some kind of trade show going on or something? Over at GameSpy they have impressions of Alias, Starsky & Hutch, StarCraft: Ghost, Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing and Sega's sports games: NBA 2K4, NFL 2K4 and NHL 2K4. There are also some Dead or Alive Online details and an interview with the guys behind .hack.
Hideo Kojima Interview The guys at IGN have posted an interview with Konami's Hideo Kojima, asking him about Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Questions are about the open combat seen in the trailer, locations we can expect to see, graphics, Snake's new abilities, and a few other things.
Splinter Cell: Shadow Strike GameSpot is reporting that Splinter Cell: Shadow Strike has shown up on Ubi Soft's release schedule, to be released this year. According to German website GamesWeb, Shadow Strike won't be a real sequel, but it will be stand-alone title. The game will feature new missions, a few new features and improved graphics.
Miyamoto's Stage Debut No, Shigeru Miyamoto hasn't taken up acting, but he did announce his new game Stage Debut. It's a weird Gamecube/Game Boy Advance hybrid game, though apparently it's not really much of a game at all. Using a special Game Boy Advance cartridge with a digital camera you take pictures of things, like your face, which will be building blocks for the game. And then you watch whatever happens... |
