Console Price Cuts Coming (?) These rumors just won't go away. If IGN and Voodoo Extreme are to be believed, console prices WILL go down in May (just before E3 most likely). Xbox and PS2 would go for $149.95, and the GameCube will go down to just $99.95. Certainly great pricing for all of them. | |
Sega At E3 Sega has announced their E3 lineup, which includes quite a few new games such as Phantasy Star Online Episode III, Sonic Heroes and a new Altered Beast, among others. 2K4 versions of Sega's sports titles will be shown at the expo as well. | |
Nico - ICO 2? Games Are Fun has posted several images found on a Spanish website, supposedly from one Sony Computer Entertainment's internal development demos. Titled NICO, people see similarities with a certain similar sounding game, ICO..Could it be? | |
Guilty Gear XX # Reload Port According to this news item on Games Are Fun, Sammy is working on a Playstation 2 port of Guilty Gear XX # Reload (Sharp Reload), which was recently released in Japanese Arcades. National Console Support has the title listed for a July 31 release date. | |
SSX 3 Announced Electronic Arts has confirmed that SSX 3 is in development for PS2, GameCube and Xbox. There will be new tricks, new events, and plenty of other new things including a soundtrack featuring the X-Ecutioners, Queens of the Stone Age and N.E.R.D. CSX Details Ritual Entertainment fan site Ritualistic has posted some Counter-Strike Xbox info, taken from a recent issue of Game Informer Magazine. The Xbox port will feature two exclusive weapons, two additional solo mission and five multiplayer missions. Graphics are said to be improved, and there will be widescreen TV support. Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu Announced Can't get enough of those Batman games? Ubi Soft has announced their latest, Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu. This multi-platform 3rd person action game will feature Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Batgirl as playable characters and supports two player coop. Misc. Media Electronic Arts has released five new screenshots from Medal of Honor: Rising Sun, we have those up locally. Screenshots from several of the Sega games plans to show off at E3 as mentioned above can be found at ToTheGame. THQ has launched a new Sphinx website. IGN has posted screenshots from Midway's Freestyle Metal X, Infogrames' GBA version of Stuntman, there's a Hunter: The Reckoning Redeemer movie and there are 25 (!) Return to Castle Wolfenstein : Tides of War movies as well. Of course, there's also GameSpot with screenshots from Freedom: Soldiers of Liberty, Prince of Persia and Sonic Pinball Party. |

Maybe so you don't have to put in the freeloader disc every time you want to play? I don't know, I am finally getting my imported SC2 soon (within a week) and I guess i'll see how I feel about this topic. So far though in my opinion, that would be the only reason I can see unless they throw some things into the US release that wasn't in the Japanese one.
