Vietcong Gone Gold

The guys at the Gathering today announced that the first person shooter Vietcong has gone gold. The game, developed by Pterodon and Illusion Softworks will ship to stores later this month.

Players of Vietcong can... - Enter a killing zone as either U.S. or VC soldiers in intense multiplayer action for up to 64 players. - Stalk your enemy with an elite force of specially trained soldiers. - Fight for honor and freedom in over 20 dramatic missions. - Strike from the shadows with more than 20 deadly weapons. - Race across hazardous terrain in jeeps, huey's, and riverboats. - Stay alert or their next step could trigger trip wires, spikes, or pit traps. - Infiltrate dangerous underground lairs containing miles of enemy infested tunnels.
You can find a multiplayer demo of the game on FileShack, a single player demo should be out soon.

The Doom III engine hasn't been licensed to anyone yet, (or even completed) has it?

Yes it has been completed (although undergoing constant revisions) and since Raven is developing the first DooM III Engine based game(Quake IV), it is starting to be licensed.

What was stated at Quakecon last year..listen to the speech....might not be being licensed commercially, but they are working with people like Raven with the DIII Engine stuff for Quake IV and others.
