New Raven Shield Patch Tomorrow

The official Raven Shield website has been updated, mentioning that another patch is on the way for the multiplayer demo. This 1.2 patch will take care of some cheats.

  Hmmmm...so 1.2 is a patch to 1.1, which was itself a patch to the "early" version of 1.1...which was of course a patch to the initial demo.
  
  Anyways...it's free and a cool game, so you can't really complain.
  
  However, since the 1.1 patch seems to run considerably slower than the initial 1.0 demo version, I will be watching to see if anything's been done about the frame rate before deciding to make the purchase. I really liked 1.0, but 1.1 was painful. I have a 2 ghz Athlon XP with a Geforce Ti4600, and my frame rate drops from 58 to 32 when the menu comes up. I won't even get into the actual game, which frequently bogs down to the mid-teens.
  
  I really like the game, but Unreal 2003 - on whose engine the game is based - runs infinitely smoother. I think these boys have screwed something up in terms of performance.

    I agree with you. The performance does seem lacking somewhere, which isn't a problem in other titles using the same core engine. I've suggested to them via e-mail and messageboards multiple times that they heavily optimize the game before they decide to ship.
