New IGI2 Screenshots

20

Codemasters has released several new IGI 2: Covert Strike screenshots today, showing the "enhanced" graphics of the game. IGI 2 is due out February 2003.

Innerloop, the team developing the stealth-themed first-person shooter, has invested additional time and resources in advancing the game's visual quality and level of detail. Displaying a remarkable enhancement over those seen to date, the new screenshots show IGI 2: Covert Strike to be very much worth the wait. The game's continued development is also benefiting the multiplayer mode, which will offer full team-oriented multiplayer gaming, with squads of up to eight players on both sides.

Actually, at a closer look, the terrain, while fairly large, is pretty blocky.. Also, the textures look pretty washed up/blurry.. Any idea at what settings those shots were taken in?

The scale seems way off. I get the sense the player is 20 feet tall.

It's probably just some form of geomipmapping or ROAM being used. So the map is more detailed closer to you and less detailed far away. B&W and lots of terrain engines use it.
