Battlefield 1942 v1.2 Info

102
The Battlefield 1942 official website has a list of issues that they are addressing in the upcoming 1.2 patch. Some small frustrations with the Linux server they are working on (I'm confused, how can Linux be frustrating? We use it on Shack and it's easily the most userfriendly OS ever created.. ok ok stay on topic.. stay on topic...) Here's some of the stuff:

We're balancing what needs to be fixed versus what we can fix promptly. So, some of the things we're looking at fixing:  - General Stability   - Remote Console  - Sound bugs  - Map load times  - Grenade effectiveness versus tanks  - Map editor

Cheating
We're committed to making BF1942 as cheat-free as possible. Because most of the game calculations are handled on the server, people using cheats are finding it very difficult to profit from them. In fact, watching someone try the Speed Hack is just plain comedic. "C'mon soldier! Fire that gun! FIRE!!! Now...RELOAD!" LOL. In any event... we at EA and DICE will make you this pledge: If you find a cheat, send it to us and we'll do everything in our power to negate its effect in the game. Everyone deserves a fair game, right?

As always, you can grab up the multiplayer and singleplayer demos of BF1942 @ Fileshack
