GDDR-3 Memory For Videocards

According to this article on EE Times, the graphics card industry has created a new DDR memory standard called GDDR-3. It's pretty similar to the upcoming DDR-2 memory, but tailored towards the needs of videocard makers like ATI and NVidia, which means it uses less power among other things. The semiconductor engineering standardization body JEDEC is currently deciding on the final specs of DDR-2, but this decision process takes too long for videocard makers.
