Late Night Consoling
So I've been playing through Kingdom Hearts, and so far I'm enjoying the experience. It's fun. A little weird to be sure, but fun. One comment...while there are characters from most of the PSX/PS2 Final Fantasy games here, the sole exception is Final Fantasy IX. Personally, I think this validates my opinion that the game was totally forgettable, but I imagine there are some people who will be offended by their omission.
Halo 2 News Bungie has updated their official Halo site with a new Q&A with Mat Noguchi, the tools programmer on Halo and its upcoming sequel. For more Halo goodness, head over to GameSpot tonight where you can find some new screenshots from Halo 2. Many of these are just renders of the new warthog...but hey, it's pretty cool looking.
Xbox Screenshots GameSpot has posted a ton of new screenshots from various Xbox games, most of which came from Microsoft's X02 event. Specifically there are new shots from Black & White: Next-Generation, BC, Sudeki, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, Jedi Knight II, Fable (more at Microsoft's official site), Unreal Championship, Minority Report, XIII, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and True Fantasy Live Online.
Vice City Stuff Still more from GameSpot tonight...they have a Q&A with Rockstar's Alexander Rogers, talking with him about the physics engine in GTA: Vice City, as well as some new movies (which are actually open for non-subscribers for a change).
Tribes PS2 Ships The next major PS2 online title has shipped...if you've got a PS2 network adapter, you can probably find Tribes: Aerial Assault at your local retailer. Here's IGN's somewhat positive review, which is now available to the general public. This will be added to the ShackReviews database this weekend (along with the other major titles that have just come out).
Nintendo's GamePhone? Nintendo has apparently confirmed that they have been working on a combination GameBoy/Cellphone for the last year. Specifics as to which GameBoy system it will be compatible with, or if it's color are nowhere to be found, but the confirmation is noteworthy by itself.
Tony Hawk 4 Preview GameSpot has a new hands-on preview of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4. There are separate pages for the GameCube, PS2 and Xbox versions of the game, but they're all identical (the screenshots appear to be different though).
Dell/Square Ink Deal SquareSoft and Dell have announced a deal where certain Dell computers will ship with Final Fantasy XI. While technically this is a PC announcement, I'm lumping it in here anyway because I'm cool like that.
GBA e-Reader News If you've got a Game Boy Advance e-Reader, you'll be pleased to know that new cards for Animal Crossing are on the way, as are the next round of classic NES titles.
No Xbox MGS2: Substance in Japan Due to the limited Xbox audience in Japan, Konami has decided not to release Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance for that platform over there. This is only for Japan, and here in America the Xbox version will be released later this year, with PC and PS2 versions to follow next year (both of which will be released in Japan).
Direct Feed ZOE2 Trailer Konami has posted a direct feed copy of their ZOE 2 trailer from TGS in both English and Japanese languages on their official Japanese site (thanks karen sympathy).
Misc. Screenshots GameSpot has some impressive new shots online from The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, while Cube.IGN has a few new shots from Metroid Prime, showing off the Spider Ball. |

Kingdom Hearts not having any characters from FFIX is supposedly because the director/character designer used only FF characters he designed from his own games.
