Late Night Consoling
My voyage through Super Mario Sunshine continues (27 shines and counting). Long time LNC readers may recall that I really didn't like the GameCube controller when I first picked it up, but I've gotten used to it. One thing I have noticed is that my freakishly large thumb keeps hitting the "Y" button by accident. This causes me frequently to plummet to my death, as I had intended to stay aloft using the hover nozzle. My ogre-like hands aside, that's just bad placement for a button. I'm adjusting, but it's definitely a pain.
Updated TGS List While it doesn't list Blizzard's mystery title (see below this LNC post) IGN has posted an updated list of the confirmed titles at this year's Tokyo Game Show. Note that this list contains only confirmed titles, so no Final Fantasy XII or Dragon Quest VIII which appeared on some earlier lists.
GTA: Vice City Soundtracks Galore Sony's Epic Records and Rockstar announced today that they will be releasing no less than seven soundtrack albums from the upcoming game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. That means 80's music out the wazoo (and hopefully a bit of Lazlow in there as well).
Shenmue II Preview A new hands-on preview of the Xbox port of Shenmue II is up at GameSpot tonight. It's not the most enthusiastic preview, with some disparaging things to say about the English voiceover work (saying it's "cringe-inducing" at times) and the minimal visual improvements.
A Link to the Past Preview Over at Pocket.IGN you'll find a new preview of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, which combines the original SNES game with the all-new multiplayer adventure The Four Swords.
Resident Evil 0 Hits America First Neato -- Resident Evil 0 will be released in America in November, but not in Japan until next year. This isn't too surprising, as the last GameCube RE didn't sell particularly well in Japan.
Game Delays Sorry kids, both Wario World and Devil May Cry 2 won't be available until early next year. DMC2 is rumored to hit both Japan and America on the same day in January, although that's not official yet.
Kingdom Hearts Review A good week before the game hits store shelves, GameSpot has already posted their review of Square's oddball Kingdom Hearts. It's not overwhelmingly positive, but I'm still really looking forward to this one.
Breath of Fire V Stuff Lots of new stuff from Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter showed up online today, including excerpts from the soundtrack and a new gameplay movie. Links to all can be found at Gamers.com.
Misc. Screenshots GameSpot has posted the first shots from Jedi Knight II for the GameCube, PS2.IGN has some new shots from the console port of The Sims and PlanetXbox has a bunch of new shots from Panzer Dragoon Orta up.
Splinter Cell Site Ubi Soft has launched the official site for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, and among the various goodies you can find there are two gameplay trailers, a Winamp skin, screensaver and more. |
