Thanks to moby of Ghost Recon Platoon for letting us know that the official Ghost Recon site has been updated with eight new screenshots from the upcoming Island Thunder expansion.

I never played Ghost Recon, but it uses the same engine from Rainbow Six though, right? Obviously it's had some enhancements over the years, but since I know the next Rainbow Six game will be using the Unreal engine would it be correct to assume that this is the Rainbow Six engines' last stand? ;)

  I still haven't finished the second expansion... they're kinda milkin this now tho, two expansions this fast... these should be free add ons.

    the desert seige add on was only 20bux, and its perhaps the only add on that i dont regret purchasing

  The original R6 engine is about 20% of the total GR engine. It's still the same basic structure, yes...
  
  Odds are, there's going to be a GR 2. What engine THAT game uses will be interesting, but I imagine it will be another in-house engine.
