While we are messageboard hopping today also have a look at this post by Mike Gummelt of Raven that Apache spotted talking about the Star Trek universe Quake3 engine based game they are working on:

Every time I read posts about people with ideas about capturing the ship, taking over the ship or retaking the ship, etc, I have to remind people that when we say we've modelled 90% of the ship, that's spread out over at least 9 different levels! It would be extremely difficult to model the entire Voyager on one map.

    Yeah #1 like some sort of tactical layout thingy. Something like the
    map display from DOOM.
