Microsoft has released the DirectX v9.0 beta to beta testers, you cant download it just yet. But once it is released you can go rip off some matress tags and step over the yellow line when riding on the bus while waiting on your download. You so crazy. Thanks HardOCP

their betas are usually fine, except for that "one in a thousand gets killed" type of thing :D Heck people PAID for the betas of Win2k/WinXP/Office

          hehe :P
btw, i was under the impression they handed those out (you only have to pay for shipping)..
Anyhow, i can see why someone would want a beta of the new office package (though you cant help it but imagining the look on his face when he finds out it screwd his docs :P), but as for directx? i really dunno bout it.. cant see any use for it in its current state..

Microsoft will sell Release Candidate versions at a very, very low price and allow you to download it as sort of a "trial"

I wouldn't download a directx beta :D It's like buying a beta console... no games that use it!

Beta office XP killed one of our systems at work, we couldn't uninstall it completely to install any other office packages (2000 or XP). Of course support wouldn't help us nor could we delete files to get it back to pre-office. A wipe and reload and we learned to let the fucktards do the work for us.
