SiS Going 3D

37
It looks like the SiS guys are looking to get serious in to the 3D videocard market. According to this PR they will be showing off a new videocard at GDC (I'll be there to check it out!). It's hard to tell much of anything about the card just yet, but they do offer this:

The “8X8” (eight-by-eight) feature of SiS330 contains the world’s first support for both DirectX 8.1 and powerful AGP8X specification that allows data transmission rate go up to 533MHz. It also utilizes the Pixelizer engine and high quality Video processor. The speechless performance of SiS330 will show game lovers how SiS provides a competitive product among varies GPU solutions.

Either things will get really interesting around GDC time, or it will fizzle and you wont hear about this card anymore. Thanks Sherry

Hopefully they have a good product that will force NVIDIA prices down.

Agreed, I ended up shelling out a ton for the GeForce3 Ti500, about a month before I knew the GeForce4's were coming. But then again thats my own damn fault :)
